Naks naman! May bagong work ‘yan siya… Now, let’s talk about RDO transfers— everyone’s favorite bonding moment between new hires, HR, and BIR frontliners. Sino ba dapat ang mag-ayos niyan?

THE REAL RULE
According to BIR RR No. 7-2024:
- Your TIN (Tax Identification Number) should be registered at the RDO (Revenue District Office) that covers your home address, not your company’s location.
- And you’re supposed to update this within 10 days of getting hired.
(Usually kaya na itong gawin through ORUS, ang online system ng BIR. Pero good luck kung may signal, at hindi lag!)
But here’s where the drama begins…
- ORUS down (again).
- Employee didn’t know may old TIN na pala sila from a raket nung college.
- Deadline na for 2316, alpha list, or tax filing.
So who ends up fixing it?
HR or Finance. (Yep, the real office superheroes. Thank you Boss Lea, Happy Hive’s HR department head!)

It’s not the employer’s obligation to transfer your RDO.
But for smooth compliance (and to avoid late reports), HR often ends up handling it anyway. So if you’re a fresh grad or a freelancer-turned-employee, remember:
Your TIN, your RDO — your responsibility.
Use ORUS if it’s available, manual process if not.
What is ORUS?
ORUS stands for Online Registration and Update System, the BIR’s tool to help with:
- TIN registration
- Updating info (like address & RDO)
- Requesting certificates (like your COR / 2303)
It’s supposed to make things faster and keep you out of long lines at the BIR. But why is it always down?
- It’s still new and often overloaded.
- Maintenance is frequent (but not always announced).
Peak seasons like April (annual filing) or December (year-end adjustments) mean lag galore.

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR RDO WHEN YOU CHANGE JOBS
Step 1: Prepare Your Requirements
- BIR Form 1905
- Valid ID
- Info on your old & new employer (some RDOs ask)
Step 2: File at Your Current (Old) RDO
- Submit your Form 1905 to your old RDO.
- They’ll process the transfer to your new RDO (based on your home address).
Step 3: Wait a Bit
- Transfers usually take 1-2 weeks.
- Some RDOs give a claim slip or stamp your 1905.
Step 4: Check Your New RDO
- Call or visit the new RDO, or use the TIN Verifier App.
- If ORUS is working, you can also check there.
